New CNC Vertical Turret Lathe Improves Tooling Efficiency and Production.
 |
CNC machinist Scott Pinkham
programs the new 48 inch Gray
Ring Master CNC vertical boring
mill for complex contouring of
tooling for metal formed
components and assemblies. |
Bomco has recently installed a remanufactured 48 inch Gray Ring Master CNC vertical boring mill with a 50 inch swing, 72 inch height under rail and two heads. The first head is a turret type, 5-sided power indexed tool block; and the second head is a ram type with 4-position power indexed tool block. Using a Fanuc 18i-TA dual path, 4-axis control, this machine excels at precise contour machining for complex tooling. It is also improving productivity for secondary trimming on formed details and for machining rings and forgings used in assemblies.
